Jon Hammond SK1 in Germany
FLASH! Jazz Great Jon Hammond takes the new Hammond SK1 on its maiden voyage onstage in Germany. Congratulations to Jon for being the first ever to play our new model on a gig! Great job, Jon, and your band too!
The great Jon Hammond and Joe Berger played a “Mini-Concert” at our booth during the recent NAMM Expo in Anaheim California. Jon, seen here playing the XK Pro system swung like a beast as always, and Joe’s nimble chops showed that the G27 Guitar Leslie makes a fine Jazz Guitar amp. The crowd that gathered bopped and boogied to the groove-who needed a drummer? Not these guys!! Classic Hammond Organ Jazz is thing of beauty and a joy forever, Thanks to Jon and Joe for a fine performance!

James Brown the Godfather of Soul with his actual God Son Michael Falkenstein.
The incredible story of the bond between them, the story can only be told in words by Michael, but a picture tells a thousand words, and here we have 44 images from behind the scenes with this outstanding and soulful young organist who was befriended by the late great James Brown over a period 20 years until Mr. Brown’s untimely death. James Brown and his personal entourage made a special journey to Michael’s family house in the tiny village of Setzingen ‘kleines dorf’ nearby Ulm Germany, in the middle of night in 2 white limousines so that Mr. Brown could meet Michael’s mother, father and his sister Martina. Here you will see the photos that have never before been shown as James Brown has cake with the family and enjoys immensely playing soul music together with Michael in their house and Hammond Organ Studio Germany, which is one of the greatest Hammond organ museums in all of the world, built by Michael’s father Professor Klaus Maier and Michael together as a tribute to Laurens Hammond founder of Hammond Instrument Company and clocks of Chicago ILL
The story will be forthcoming as soon as Michael can bring himself to write it as he is still mourning the loss of his Godfather James Brown R.I.P. enjoy these never-before-seen photos and original music recording of Michael “Time With You” as heard on Jon Hammond’s HammondCast Show KYOU Radio

“FRANCE HONORS MUSICIAN
ANGELIQUE KIDJO
WITH THE ORDER OF ARTS AND LETTERS
New York, May 6, 2011—On Wednesday, May 11, Antonin Baudry, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of France, will confer upon internationally acclaimed artist, Angélique Kidjo, the insignia of Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters for her musicianship, her dedication to humanitarian causes, and, more generally, for her efforts to further the arts in France and throughout the world.
Born in the West African city of Ouidah, in Benin, Mrs. Kidjo grew up during the 1960′s, a radical period of change across the African continent. She released her first album at age 20 with the help of her brother and went on to pursue music in Paris, first at Les Ateliers-Chansons (The Song Studios) and then at CIM (school of jazz and contemporary music).
Today, she has become an influential musician on a global scale, known for her dynamic performances and diverse musical influences, which range from Congolese rumba and Afro-pop, to jazz, gospel, and Latin styles. Her numerous projects include collaborations with musicians such as Bono, Peter Gabriel, Carlos Santana, Ziggi Marley, Alicia Keys, Dianne Reeves, Josh Groban, Herbie Hancock, and Youssou N’Dour. She has received countless awards from around the globe for her musical merits including a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary World Music Album in 2008 and the French Grand Prix de la SACEM (Grand Prize from SACEM) in 2010.
Among her many notable humanitarian achievements, Mrs. Kidjo is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF. She founded The Batonga Foundation in 2007 to support secondary school and higher education for girls in Africa. She also composed the song, “You Can Count on Me”, for the launch of UNICEF’s 2009 campaign to eliminate tetanus.
The Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of Arts and Letters) was created in 1957 to recognize eminent artists and writers, as well as individuals who have contributed to the recognition of French culture in the world. The Order is given out twice annually to only a few hundred people worldwide. Several Americans have received the award, including Paul Auster, Ornette Coleman, Agnes Gund, Marilyn Horne, Jim Jarmusch, Richard Meier, Robert Paxton, Robert Redford, Meryl Streep, and Uma Thurman”
